Rebecca Ewing, Faith and Family Director
Rebecca Grace Ewing holds a degree in B.S. in Music and Speech Education from Pensacola Christian College and a M.Ed. in English Education from Bob Jones University. After gaining experience teaching in a Christian high school, Rebecca felt the call to pro-life activism and other current causes while reading The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom.
After serving as SC Pro-life Coalition Leader for a Presidential campaign, Rebecca helped formulate and found The Alliance. While having a varied and extensive history in ministry involvement, Rebecca hopes to use her position as Faith and Family Coordinator to live out her passion for developing community and innovating ways of fixing societal issues and helping those in need.
Her goal is to form a new pro-life coalition across SC that will approach the abortion issue not only through legislation, but also by addressing all the root causes and addressing our culture of selfishness. Through this cause she is forming “Gospel Engagement Teams” that seek to build inter-church communities of mission-minded followers of Christ across the state to transform each city and county of South Carolina for Christ.
Ted Durant: Law and Policy Director
The Law and Policy Coordinator will work to affirm and confirm laws and policies that are in agreement with the standards of God. Public policy should reflect righteousness, and we will hold those accountable who represent us to these standards. Some practical steps we will take:
- Closely monitoring legislation on the state and national level and advising our members of action that is needed. (Phone calls, emails, state committee hearings, etc.)
- Voter registration drives and encouraging all Christians to vote.
- Vetting of candidates on the ballot and providing this valuable voter information to our members and churches.
- Candidate recruitment and training. We need righteous citizens to seek and hold elected office.
- Provide “legal do’s and don’ts” for churches.
- Provide information on our website for contacting our elected representatives.
- Establish good, working relationships with our elected officials, from local, to state, to national levels. Ideally, all 46 counties in SC will have an Alliance chapter that will help coordinate the above objectives in their county.
